More about Luke
My design career spans more than fifteen years including a decade of agency work in London
and seven years
running my own studio and consulting directly with clients. I’ve worked remotely from every continent bar
Antarctica during a long spell of nomadic living, but now mostly work out of my beautiful office in the centre of
Leeds, U.K. As well as client work with Airborne Studio, I also work on a long term consultancy basis with select
clients. Currently I am Head of Brand and Content for social app Fledglink and Head of Brand Design for San
Francisco agency Truth Cartel.
Fledglink is a UK based startup helping young people work smarter to find the best
We’ve worked with them right from the inception of the idea; supporting them through prototyping and testing,
through to securing funding before launching the app on both iOS and Android. Luke continues to work closely
them as Head of Brand and Content.
Blue Rocket is a senior management advisory firm based in Redmond, Washington. Our
strategy sessions uncovered a love of tough challenges, solving difficult problems and a great sense of
responsibility and integrity running right through the team. These values and concepts underpinned all the
subsequent creative work we undertook.
Dubai based distribution firm Jaspa needed help introducing high-quality Chinese tyre
brand Blacklion into the Middle Eastern market. We set about the task of developing the brand and localising it
for the region. This included expanding the visual identity, creating a consistent tone of voice, writing
and building a complex website in both English and Arabic.
Zipwire is a Seattle based software startup that creates digital applications to manage
complicated data and connections for enterprise level clients. We have an ongoing relationship with them forged
over the last couple of years and several substantial projects. These have ranged from in-depth UI and UX work
through to a full company rebrand.
Social Squad is a sub-brand of London based media start-up Ball Street Network. With
13m followers, the collection of social media accounts they brought together wield significant influence. Our
strategy sessions defined them as authentic, grass-roots and fanatical – and they needed a lean identity and
simple website to reflect those qualities.
